The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has persisted intractably for some 150 years. Over the conflict’s course, two pathways have been followed: campaigns for victory of one side over the other, or establishing two nation-states side-by-side. Neither of these pathways has proven conducive to solving the conflict. As a result, a damaging status quo has arisen with violence remaining the only constant.

In 2020, Challenge, an organization for conflict transformation, launched the Federal Forum,

a program in which Israeli and Palestinian activists, scholars, professionals and practitioners explore federalist models of governance that might be better suited to facilitating peace, security and justice for all in Israel and Palestine.

This event will consider ideas in the recent Federal Forum report A New Federal Paradigm for the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, along with shared principles in international law and faith-based traditions relevant to peace, justice and federalism.
