UEF celebrates 70th Anniversary at XXV European Congress

From 10-12 June 2016, the Union of European Federalists (UEF) held their XXV Congress in Strasbourg, France under the theme of “European Future or National Decline? – Time for a Federal Europe.” The event marked the 70th anniversary of the Federalist campaigns for a United Europe.

Barbara Martin Walker, one of the long-time and finest members of WFM, passed away on Friday, March 25.  Barbara Walker and her husband Bob were “lifelong supporters” of world federalism and our peace movement.  She served on the WFM Executive Committee for many years, as Treasurer and advisor.  Barbara was 92 years old.

WFM-IGP Celebrates Human Rights Day

New York- On December 10, 2015, the World Federalist Movement- Institute for Global Policy (WFM-IGP) marks Human Rights Day, which commemorates the General Assembly’s adoption of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights in 1948. WFM-IGP Executive Director, William Pace said, “This year we celebrate the 70th anniversary of the UN Charter, which established the three pillars of the UN - peace and security, development, and human rights. In September the General Assembly formally upgraded 'development' to 'sustainable development'.

The Conference of Parties (COP21) is currently taking place in Paris, as the last part of a series of negotiations on climate action. The goal of the conference is to achieve a legally binding and universal agreement on climate action that will keep global warming below 2 degrees Celsius.
